How is this SEVEN years ago? 🤯 🗓️ On this day in 2019... 🥹

Saw the whole game live, a surreal experience. I don’t think any game of cricket comes close to what I witnessed that day. Perhaps the greatest Test innings ever played.

Could have been the greatest ENG cricketer of all time...but his antics off the field have him retired.

Tbf he deserves to drink himself away just because of this and the WC

Best test innings i have ever watched!!!

Gee England must have gone on to win that series yeah?

You need this victory because generally Australians dominate you

Can never be understated how superb this innings was from Ben Stokes, 9 down, plenty of runs left to go and he just thought sod it we’re winning this by hook or by crook, unbelievable player

How the heck was that SEVEN years ago?? Time flies fast, man.

All academic now of course, but I’ve never thought ball tracking got that lbw right. Appears it missed the flick off the front pad and took that as spin when there wasn’t any. Not convinced it’s physically possible for it to have hit where Hawkeye says from that angle of delivery

Where has that time gone

When Australia met Steve Bucknor level umpiring!

That was amazing to watch live.

When everyone lost their hopes, Joel Wilson stepped up

@Jacob_Gibson 😍😍

I live in Farsley or 4 miles from the ground. Had it ont wireless in the garden as I couldn't bear watching the game #coward😂🤦🤦. Could hear the crowd and the roar when Ben hit the winning runs. Never heard a noise like it since 🏏

I’ve been fortunate to be present at so many great sporting events over the years but in terms of cricket this is easily no.1 for me - the crowd knew Australia had won it, the Aussie players knew they’d won it and by all accounts the tv and radio commentators knew Australia had won it - except they forgot to tell Ben Stokes and Jack Leach…..

This is the perfect example of their is 1 percent of chance

Plumb LBW

The only regret is I didn’t watch this match live What a player Test cricket will miss him for sure

What an innings, what a player!

Then went and pissed it all away

Best innings I've ever witnessed from a England batsman!

People call him lucky for that LBW appeal going his way but almost no one ever talks about how terrible that Review from Cummins was which was their last one

Cinema

One of the biggest fluke innings of all time 😂

This is for eternity ✨

I agree, Stokes has done a lot of hard work, but his luck also helped a lot in finishing this match

Still the greatest innings I've ever seen from an English batsmen and I'm not sure it will ever be topped.

Shame he's such a weak man outside the cricket ground...

Stoky is Legend

His finest moment, a brilliant player (not a brilliant captain, face facts Ben). You can watch him today playing for Durham County in Div 2. On a really good day a thousand punters might turn up. Focus and professionalism over ego kids. Live and learn.

I don’t know 🥳😂

When there was a proper series in the summer and not this 100 bullshit

One of the best moment of 2019.
