How is this the first time I’m learning that Janet Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Samuel L. Jackson, and Tracy Chapman are cousins?!

The word cousin means different things to different people.

Because none of it is true. They are like third cousins.

I knew Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder were distant cousins. I didn't try to trace that relationship, or imagine Tracy Chapman could be related. I'm envisioning Samuel L. Jackson's cheekbones. Hmmm.

And Dionne Warwick and Whitney houston were cousins.

I knew Stevie Wonder was their cousin. I’ve known that for a number of years, but not the other two.
