people love to glamorize this lifestyle, but they rarely talk about the poverty, dependence, and health issues that often come with it

even those who have a job are very disconnected from any sort of society/community. I'm doing exceptionally well for someone in the UK and I still just feel like a NEET with income streams lol

The Lost Gen is a result of young Gen-X and older Millennials seeing what is happening to their countries. No faith, no motivation, so better to enjoy life instead of working hard, it doesn't pay off anyway.

I was part of that generation 10 years ago or so, and for a long time; but now (2026) I guess there’s enough people to make it noticeable, or deserving of a name “lost generation” for the now apparent group (isolated, no social skills, no hope, no direction, lacking confidence)
