I was pulled over by the complete opposite kind of cop in my 20s. I too had my windshield tinted, but also had the 6 inch darker band at the top. He complained about it, but then tried to scratch the tint from inside & couldn't. God bless Bear, my tinter for being good at his job

No, you’re good luck was that you were respectful to the cop too many people wanna get defensive and act like oh the cops doing something wrong. Those young man was polite and respectful and that’s why the cop appreciated that and didn’t give him a ticket.
