It has now been 8 years since I first started working for Riot Games. Today, I am grateful for the trust that was placed in my work, and for all the support you have given me over the years. 🫂 Thank you everyone, from the bottom of my heart! 💕 Here is a retrospective video reel showing off some of my VFX over the years. 20 years ago, i left my country, my culture, my food, and family to embark on a journey that started with the release of my very first body of music! So many of you were a part of my life and career since the very beginning, and some of you have joined the adventure along the way. I’m forever grateful to all of you. Each of you played a very crucial role in where this journey has taken me thus far! I just wanted to take this moment to say thank you! This is not the Portland, Oregon that I grew up in. I was a Trail Blazers Dancer in my early 20’s for several years and I used to LOVE being out in the city, especially at night! Those were some of the best years of my life. Now I worry about parking downtown in the middle of the day and getting my car broken into… not to mention all of the protests and riots taking place. It’s honestly just sad.

In 2022, the Ontario Mathematics Coordinators Association ran a professional development webinar for math teachers across Ontario school boards. The slide was titled “White Supremacy in Math Education.” Under “covert white supremacy” it listed: standardized testing, “I don’t see colour in my math class,” and “Of course math is neutral because 2 + 2 = 4.” Not a fringe blog. Not a parody account. A professional association shaping how math teachers are trained. Dwarkesh asks the world's most famous mathematician: what's your advice for someone considering a career in math, especially in light of AI progress? Tao is honest about uncertainty: "We live in a time of change. A particularly unpredictable era. Things that we've taken for granted for centuries may not hold anymore. The way we do everything... not just mathematics... will change." He admits his preference: "In many ways, I would prefer a much more boring, quiet era where things are much the same as they were 10 or 20 years ago. But one just has to embrace this. There's going to be a lot of change. The things you study... some of them may become obsolete or revolutionized. But some things will be retained." I’m in Brazil for the first time in 10 years, since the Rio Olympics. And tomorrow morning I won’t be contesting for the podium. The hamstring tear I suffered in Tokyo 7 months ago is still healing and I am a long way from where I was then. But I’m excited for this test, to see where my body is at. And I am grateful that World Athletics included me in their pre-race press conference knowing that and asking me instead about what Brazil gave to me 10 years ago. It’s remarkable to think how much I’ve grown and changed in the last decade, and the role my first Olympics played in that. Tomorrow morning (7am Vancouver time on CBC Gem) I’ll hit the streets of Brasilia, and I will give it everything I have. And maybe tomorrow that will be 40th place. But my words from the evening of that fateful 50km 10 years ago will ring soundly in my ear, ‘I left everything I possibly had out there and I can’t ask for anything more than that.’

So she said, well, the law used to be we could only go back eight years. But now the law changed a year ago and now they can go back as far as they want. So 10, 12 years in my case, 15, 20 years.
