How Italians feel about American work culture:

Right, so to be clear, I am from Italy and this is a delusion. Workers work longer, salaries are lower, healthcare doesn’t work anymore, GDP hasn’t grown since 1995, anyone who is rich was born rich, there is no point to work hard, workers report feeling MORE stressed and young people escape in droves to better European countries so much that we have a net outflow of people.

Mediterranean culture is slow and often lazy. Which is fine for that part of the world. They don’t innovate, just cook grow olives make wine and promote tourism.

American work culture sucks and is anti human. Give me La Dolce Vita any day of the week.

Italians know how to live. Wine, food, art, soccer, weather, cars, fashion

Arrogant Americans commenting that Italy’s relaxed attitude on work is why its economy is failing. Not true. It’s failing because the ECB forces them to cut public spending and allow asset prices to soar. Italians can’t afford a life PRECISELY because they still work too much.

Ask how many Italians still live with their parents and can’t find a job or can’t afford gas

As an ardent capitalist, this is a healthy perspective. However, it’s not going to push limits of humanity forward.
