How many of you remember Hitesh Modi??? A solid gritty Kenyan batsman. In no relation to PM Modi or Lalit Modi ofcourse. That catch to end Modi's innings by Kanitkar is a special one.

A cricket nerd will never forget hitesh modi as he's the only son to be given out by his own dad in an international match . . .

Eden of that time is a memory and feeling tough to describe...

Kenya me bhi modi-shah duo

Kenya is mini Gujrat.

I have seen this series which took place in 1998. It’s a tri series the other team is Bangladesh. Gagan Koda made his debut to international side with this series. Kenyan team captain was Asif Karim.

90s Kenya Team - Nostalgic - Modi, Odumbe, Tikolo…

Hitesh Modi, Ravindu Shah and Brijesh Patel. 3 players from Indian origin I remember from 2003 World Cup.

There’s a moment I remember probably from another match this series. He hits a four and kisses his bat flush on the blade lol. Harsha Bhogle wondered on commentary if that’s what he’d call his most romantic moment- when he went out to bat 😂

Yes remember him. He played some good innings vs India. When #ZaheerKhan played his first ODI in Nairobi in 2000, he took his wicket by a nasty yorker. Thanks for taking back in time. #Cricket

I remember him well along with Tikolo, Odumbe brothers. And left arm spinner asim karim or something. They were a decent side back then. Its unfortunate that they couldnt maintain that stature after 2003 WC and fizzled out eventually!

हितेश मोदी मध्यमक्रम के थे ऊपर रविन्दु शाह और टिकोलो

This was a close series including bangladesh i guess triseries

I remember him Zaheer Khan's first or second wicket

Got given out by his umpire father in a match

Ofcourse for 90s cricket fans that Kenya team was iconic

Deepak Chudasama was also in the same team

Is that alan wilkins calling his wicket?

A lot of Indians had migrated to Kenya back in the 60s. They still live there but practice Indian customs and traditions.

So where did he go man??

there was ravendu shah as well. modi-shah ki jodi 😁

Pretty gritty player and was 2nd victim of Zaheer Khan with a peach of Yorker in 2000 Champions Trophy. Played good knocks vs India.

It was final in Eden garden he made a fifty. Whole ground cheered fore him giving standing ovation.undia win by 10 wicket this final match Kenya beat india at gwalior in this triangular series other team being bangladesh....I remember everything like yesterday

Interesting trivia about Hitesh Modi 👇🏼

Used to always wait for his wicket

Do you know batsman majot kalra

Poor man's Andy Flower, though he always scored runs against India.

not sure if it was this game, but i remember us losing a game to Kenya this series, the other team in this tri-nation was BD?

Busy middle order batsman. Was this the final of the quadrilateral series at Eden Gardens mid 90's?

Related to Nirav Modi. /s

also remember Deepak Chudasama from Kenya as well.

Childhood memories Asif Karim, Steve Tikolo, Maurice Odumbe that was some team

In one of these games Kenya scored 270 odd & India couldn’t chase down and lost. I remember a vague memory. Classic cricket days, jerseys looked cool too ❤️

I do.

After every run taken by him he used to kiss his bat… I remember this batsman ..

He was a good player, loved his batting. Once his father Subhash Modi gave him LBW out against Bdesh .
