Flammable, toxic when Flammable, no one would insure a structure built from it. Might make a nice paver system, or garden border. Biggest problem will be UV Breakdown.

But young innovators like Victoria Francis are changing that, starting from the streets of Akwa Ibom. Through Plastic Cultured, she and her team are turning collected waste into fuel, mattresses and plastic bins. Their innovation is about more than just recycling; it’s about creating jobs, protecting the environment and building cleaner communities for residents and tourists alike. Thanks to the Young Africa Innovates Programme, Victoria now has the support, mentorship and tools to scale her idea and push for a zero plastic waste culture across Nigeria. Speaking during the National Cleaning Day, Bona said manufacturers must play their part in ensuring that packaging materials, particularly plastic bottles, are collected and recycled after use. Green Action for Sustainable Production, an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) organisation supported by manufacturers including Coca-Cola, Pepsi and Hariss International, is among the key sponsors of the National Cleaning Day. The organisation donated an assortment of cleaning materials to Kira Municipality to support the cleaning exercise. Bona emphasised that proper waste segregation creates value, enabling waste collectors to earn from recyclable materials. “A bottle that is mixed with organic waste becomes useless to us, but a bottle that is separated shall have value.” He called on Ugandans to separate waste at home and support waste collectors, who play a critical role in keeping communities clean and recovering recyclable materials. #NationalCleaningDay #OpenGovUg

🚨 Corporations are now recycling plastic waste and turning into Vanilla Flavoring and adding it into our food products “Did you guys know that vanilla flavoring can be made out of plastic waste? They're doing this through genetically engineered bacteria, and they're already adding it to some foods we eat, so they're trying to upcycle plastic bottles, specifically ones that use PET and TA. And by the way, that engineered bacteria is actually E. Coli. So can somebody please explain to me why we know that microplastics, nanoplastics accumulate in the body and cause Alzheimer's, dementia, cognitive decline, stroke, plaque buildup is really bad for our health. Why are we intentionally adding it to our food?”
