If this is white supremacy then everything is. How about just focus on teaching students to be flexible in their thinking. Absurd gobbledygook.

“…without being proactively named or chosen by the group.” How is that done? Is the result necessarily better? Collectivism has its own long list of inherent abuses. How will you be sure to avoid those? Is it even possible for you to avoid those? Interesting: what then follows in your discussion is an appeal to individualism. So which end is up? In the factory model of education, teachers must make choices and students must follow along. It is better to acknowledge this as Rule 0 and get on with it. If you can afford to make space and time in your classroom and relationships to accommodate wider thinking, more power to you. Really. And if you don’t, then you do what you can with what you have, which might not look anything like what you espouse here. Talking about this in terms of “whiteness” is crap. It is not simply crap, it is vicious crap. Whatever you can salvage from your mode of thinking that might actually be valuable, it is not about “white”. But there is not much here to salvage. This is a political power grab that will consume you as soon as you are no longer useful.

@Jason_To If you believe that objectivity has any color, you are the racist. It is a fact (an objective one).

@Jans1Perumal Thank you Perumal - I appreciate your kind words. I also want to say that I am nothing without my colleagues who have taught me everything I know :)
