I have a friend who got a 4 year scholarship from college when she graduated. She took a part-time job waiting tables in a strip club and ended up making like $1200 bucks that weekend. This was in the early 80’s. She never went to college she kept “waiting tables”. She said it just paid more money now she she’s in her 60s and recently retired from being a waitress (not still at a strip club) She did use a little of her smarts and ran a successful insurance company with her husband on the side.
