bare bright has been at around $4 a lb for the last couple of years. You'd probably get 20 or 30 bucks out of this.

the motor would be worth more if you repaired it and resold it. At least $5000.

People should keep 5 gallon buckets in their shed for copper & brass. Most don't realize how much of it they toss with dead electronics. Every few years I cash in my buckets and get ~3 - $500...sometimes more. It's just a small investment in time.

So if you invest $300-$400 in equipment, assuming you have a monster air delivery system, you can make enough for dinner.

~$30 if you bring it as bare copper without having to do the work but you have to first get the motor for free basically, then drive it to the scrap yard in your truck that uses gas, put it on the scale, go to the line to get paid, then pay tax on what they paid you

The value of copper from a large industrial electric motor depends on its size and copper content. At ~$4.68/lb (May 31, 2025), a motor with 50–200 pounds of copper could be worth $234–$936, with ~100 pounds yielding ~$468. Exact value varies by horsepower and condition, so this is an estimate. Check motor specs or consult a scrap dealer for precision.
