How NAT works ? Multiple devices use private IPs inside a network. The router uses NAT to map them to one public IP on the internet. Outgoing traffic → NAT replaces private IP with public IP Incoming response → NAT replaces public IP with private IP

small but critical detail - NAT also maintains a port mapping table to track connections. without port remapping you'd be limited to one active connection per internal IP. that's why some games have NAT type issues when they need specific ports.
