catch our breath after nearly two hours of relentless shouting and pushing. But then, a chill ran down my spine. I looked at my wife, surrounded by blood, and said, "Love, this baby isn’t crying… and she’s all white. Is this normal?" Instantly, the midwives sprang into action..

whisking our baby over to the Infant Warmer Machine. I watched anxiously as they began tapping her chest, determined to make her cry. Then my wife, amidst her pain, asked me, "Babe, why isn’t our daughter crying? What’s happening?"

More than five minutes had passed since she was born, and our baby girl was still silent. The fear in the room was palpable. The midwives looked worried, but Nurse Tochi, the lead midwife, stayed resilient. She turned to me and asked, "Sir, what’s your baby’s name?" ....

I replied, "Daberechi." With a determined voice, Nurse Tochi declared, "Daberechi, you will live up to your name. You will come back to life and follow your parents home because they didn’t go through this struggle in vain. CRY OUT!" ....

They resumed their efforts, one nurse massaging her chest, another her back, while the third inserted a tube to give oxygen. Ten minutes in, and still no cry. The tension was thick; everyone in the room was sweating, despite the fans and AC on full blast.

Then, in a desperate move, one of the nurses softly played "Omemma" by Chandler Moore: "You’re always on time, You can’t do no wrong, Omemma! You leave the Ninety-Nine, always for the One." Suddenly, my wife, still enduring the pain of her stitches, began speaking in tongues ...

with a fierce determination, declaring, "Daberechi is here to stay!" Without thinking, I joined her in prayer, and so did the nurses. The labor room turned into a battleground of faith, with prayers rising like a wave. In the midst of this, the surgeon continued stitching up....

my wife with focused precision. I held her hand as she channeled every ounce of strength into her prayers, ignoring her own pain. Her focus was solely on our baby. Then, as if responding to the intensity in the room, our baby’s color started changing from pale white to a....

healthy pink under the radiant warmer. The nurses screamed, “She’s coming to us!” And just like that, the prayer tempo increased! Finally, at exactly 7:03 p.m., we heard it—the cry we had been desperately waiting for. Our baby girl let out her first wail, and in that moment.....

I was overwhelmed. I cried like a child, my Ijaw woman cried too, and the midwives congratulated us with joyful tears, “Congratulations, Daddy and Mummy Daberechi!” They showed us our beautiful girl before rushing her off to the nursery.

In an instant, our attention shifted back to the ongoing surgery. I asked, "Doctor Bubu, how far with the stitching?" He chuckled and replied, “Welcome back, guys. I’m almost done.” That’s when all the pain my wife had been ignoring suddenly hit her like a wave—

she let out a loud scream! It was gut-wrenching to watch her endure so much in one night, but in that moment, I knew I was married to a true AMAZON. Despite everything, at exactly 10:25 p.m., my Ijaw woman stood up from the bed like a warrior and walked to the recovery room....

as if nothing had happened. The strength, resilience, and courage she showed still leave me speechless. But trust me, this is just the beginning of the miracle. When the time is right, I’ll share more. For now, whenever you doubt God’s power or question the existence of miracles
