Oh wow, look. I made a post showing Africa in a slightly negative light and it’s going viral. I made infinite posts about African unity and liberation from neocolonialism, and nothing. Essentially If (Black people rising) { post suppressed } If (Black people bad) { boost ^2 }

By producing oil this primitive pre-industrial way the wages will of course be minimal. How come there was no technological progress all those sixty years after colonisation?

For once we both agree. It is th assumptions behind your question that we disagree with.

So what are my wrong assumptions? The chap in the video is doing honest work, excellent in a traditional small village economy. But in 2026 people want to have affordable red palm cooking oil in the stores.

The oil isnt for you tho. You can get mechanical homogenized oil at the store. I’m sure this is much better. Ironically, I was going to make a joke about his ass crack showing and I wouldn’t buy it on that reason alone then your comment sobered me up. I saw my own bias in high def in your comment. If that makes sense.

@WithoutHistory I would prefer this cold pressed palm oil as well, for cooking. I make my own wine using this method, as a hobby. My point is that this production method will never give him a decent income.

@WithoutHistory What should he do but a palm factory? He is working within his means. Where there are small palm oil pressers like this there are already large manufacturers. If you make wine you should have a more empathetic view of scale vs cost.

@WithoutHistory Wine making is a hobby. I just wish that palm oil pressing gentleman a good income.

Its still not hygienic 🤦🏽‍♂️ After so many years, Africans create a simple technology for extraction of a basic commodity that is used by millions on a daily basis. Hmmm

I would really expect that after all these years of processing and extracting this stuff (the economy of entire African countries and empires relied on palm trees and they’re derivatives) that we would’ve evolved and found a less labor intensive way of doing this 🤦🏾‍♂️ This applies to a number of things, including processing cassava into garri. The same process my grandma used was the same I used when I was home and the same that’s in use today: why are things slow to metamorphose back home?

Machine will do it faster and effective thereby reducing waste. Industrialization is the way out.

They are tightening that as if they’re tightened to 18BCE. Are your schools or societies lacking of chemical, electrical, mechanical amd instrumentation engineers who could of easily designed an efficient system??

Whoa this traditional palm oil process is straight-up intense 😭💪 No machines, just raw hands, pounding, and pure grind on a dirt floor. Those guys are built different – respect for the real hard work behind every bottle 🔥 Never buying it the same way again

So if his butt crack isn't advertised, the oil will not be pressed? Whats all this subtle and dirty harassment in the name of fashion.
