How RAM Works 🤔

I can't believe i need an entire kitchen for 2 Chrome Tabs

Yeah but that bitch ass excuse for a human named Sam Altman made RAM more expensive to get.

Google Chrome: Aight, gimme your whole 32gb counter for my 10 tabs, human.

The problem isn’t “the counter is filled up.” Having a full table is fine if you don’t need anything else. It’s when you EXCEED the capacity of your RAM, at that point it needs to move stuff out of RAM, to make more room. So it’d be like you have to put some ingredients back to make room for new ones, and then when you need them again, you have to go back to the pantry, grab it, and make room for it by putting something else in the pantry. A bigger table (more RAM) prevents this.

If you want to expand this further, your CPU is multi cored which is like a chef having assistants to help make a meal vs just yourself. If the program is multi-threaded, that would be like a recipe that asks you to do something else while waiting for a specific part to cook.

First good content in a long time

so what if yea, the table is big enough but either the guy cooking is very sluggish and or his equipments like his knife and cooker aren't working well then it still leads to wasted time?

There's something called Ram Plus in smartphones, have a short read about what they are and how they work. Cheers 🥂 😅

Wow. Beautiful break down..

Hmm
