"How serious should we take Carson Benge being the Opening Day LF or CF?" - Joe DeMayo & Connor Rogers "Very seriously. They are going to give Carson Benge every opportunity to make this roster out of camp. They are so high on this kid." - Steve Gelbs

Connor, Joe, and Steve react to the Mets' deal with Bo Bichette and the implications of the move on The Mets Pod:

@PSLToFlushing @ConnorJRogers @SteveGelbs From what I’ve seen of him so far, I think they are drastically overrating him.

@PSLToFlushing @ConnorJRogers @SteveGelbs Who the hell is going to play LF & CF Tyrone Taylor can play defense but he cant hit for beans sterns better get this straightened out cause right now the outfield looks brutal same with our starting rotation

@PSLToFlushing @ConnorJRogers @SteveGelbs @ConnorJRogers I just know your happy to be talking Mets rn as opposed to our friends in green

@PSLToFlushing @ConnorJRogers @SteveGelbs This would be a very big mistake. He has 28 games total at AAA and he hit .178 there. He is not ready.

@PSLToFlushing @ConnorJRogers @SteveGelbs Funny, like the signing but dislike Stearns more today than yesterday. Can you imagine if Pete was still here playing first and batting cleanup? Still can’t believe they let him walk. What an awful move. @StevenACohen2

@PSLToFlushing @ConnorJRogers @SteveGelbs the way FA plays out this year, its imperative for the mets to have a farm, to churn out productive players and stars. we need him to be above average. when, I dunno.

@PSLToFlushing @ConnorJRogers @SteveGelbs Big Splash: Cody Bellinger Medium Splash: Marcel Ozuna Small Splash: Starling Marte

@PSLToFlushing @ConnorJRogers @SteveGelbs Benge's rise was meteoric through A+, AA and into AAA...However, after hitting .300+ @ A+ & AA, METS need to hope his .178 @ SYR is not indicative and chalked up to only 90 ABs...?? Spring will determine Benge's role in 2026

@PSLToFlushing @ConnorJRogers @SteveGelbs Here we go again how many times have we heard this

@SNYtv @PSLToFlushing @ConnorJRogers @SteveGelbs I think the Mets will trade vientos for Roberts now and add another righty bat

@PSLToFlushing @ConnorJRogers @SteveGelbs Benge is gonna struggle through the year. How many years did it take Baty and Vientos to figure MLB pitching out? Baty is catching fly balls before Benge is. Book it.

@PSLToFlushing @ConnorJRogers @SteveGelbs Austin Hays / Maybe a trade ? Let’s go ! My interest is peaked.

@PSLToFlushing @ConnorJRogers @SteveGelbs Team is tanking if that’s the case

@PSLToFlushing @ConnorJRogers @SteveGelbs Mets are ruining baseball

@PSLToFlushing @ConnorJRogers @SteveGelbs Sign Bellinger.. Trade Batty, Peterson, Sproat, Jett Williams and Watson for Peralta.

@PSLToFlushing @ConnorJRogers @SteveGelbs Trade for a CF like Doyle, Duran, or Robert Jr. Sign Austin Hays to platoon LF with Benge against LHP (950 OPS vs LHP in 2025, career 820 OPS)
