Scientists from Aalto University and the University of Bayreuth have created a groundbreaking hydrogel that replicates human skin’s strength, flexibility, and self-healing powers. Composed of clay nanosheets and polymer networks, it’s durable yet flexible, healing 90% of cuts in just 4 hours and fully recovering within 24 hours. This innovation could transform wound healing, artificial skin, robotics, and drug delivery, opening up exciting new possibilities for medicine and technology.

My wife had knee replacement surgery 2 years ago. They used the zip ties to close her up. She had the operation done out of our area but did therapy near home. The therapists had never seen the zip ties before. The zips worked fantastically well.

These are not to replace stitches. These are used as a quick fix until the required treatment can be accessed. They are used to minimise blood loss and reduce the risk of foreign bodies getting into the cut.

The technology is been around for many years, but you have to put sutures inside to avoid. Tension otherwise de scar will stretch , also we close the dermis with an internal suture to avoid railroad tracks Is good for GP’s. And ER doctors
