The bystander effect is when people are less likely to help in an emergency if others are around. Everyone assumes someone else will act, so no one does. The term became famous after the 1964 case of Kitty Genovese in New York City. More witnesses = less action.

We are same to same but on 2 legs 🦵

This made me uncomfortable because I know I’d be looking around like ‘are we… not leaving??

Gamers would call that the NPC effect lol.

Kinda believe this effect is created by humanity being somewhat cynical or somewhat paranoid of being a bother. I guarantee you all those ppl had similar thought processes of believing someone more qualified could help & doing nothing alleviates responsibility.

The Bystander effect led to an horrific incident on New Year’s Eve in Switzerland this year

Me:

Cool

This screams "couldn't be me" energy

Depends on the person. It's not a human forced action but rather a personal one. Some people will start yelling fire, tell someone to go pull a fire alarm, and another to go get an extinguisher. Others will look at the smoke and wonder what's going on.

Or you got that one who will film it

So basically people response effect by environment

Man, we are dumb sheeps

Type shi

Humans are no better than sheep

People are sheep

The explanation if the bystander effect is wrong... it's not that you aren't suppose to do anything but that someone else will... and the fear of standing out if you do act. The outcome is the same as zack's but the cause is wrong

This is why the human race need to be exterminated from earth

@Grok is this a true story?

I think 'herd mentality' is a better description

@grok is this video real
