According to the Emerald Tablets of Thoth the Atlantean, Thoth says he buried his "spaceship" and created a monument as a marker in the form of a “lion yet like unto man” (the Sphinx). The ancient Egyptians traveled the stars in spirit, or after achieving the immortal Akh, so that “spaceship” might be a literal vehicle or an enormous underground complex, a chamber of ancient knowledge, advanced wisdom, and resurrection 'technology' used by the ancient ascending Masters. Even if the Tablets are a modern counterfeit made in the 1930s, as skeptics claim, how did the author know about the chambers beneath the Sphinx, which were discovered forty years later?

The most compelling evidence points to the Sphinx being eroded primarily by rainfall, not desert wind. That kind of deep vertical weathering requires a far wetter climate than the one Egypt has had for the last 5,000 years. The last period with sustained heavy rainfall in Giza ended around 7,000–10,000 BCE, and possibly even earlier, which suggests the core body of the Sphinx predates the dynastic Egyptians by several millennia. Later civilizations repaired and re-carved it, but the original erosion likely comes from a much older, wetter era.
