I still live in a bright colourful world because I choose to, it’s a choice.

Basically, the world lost colour.

Funny thing is, I dressed the same in 2026 as I did in 1982. Blue jeans, t-shirt, and tennis shoes. I can look at old pictures of myself and the only difference is the hairline. We did change from Converse All-Stats to Nike type tennis shoes in the late 1970s. Couldn't afford the Nike's so we had Montgomery Ward Bargain Basement Brand.

Having lived through that, I can tell you this video is nonsense. The world wasn't more colorful than it is today at all. It was constrained by a lack of knowledge and mobility.

1980 rocks ...

Gen z took the worst aspects of their parents style choices and brought thrn back.

People getting more and more solitary, thinking about themselves only. Never committed to someone, truly loving and respecting each other. Sad.

Man... The 80s had vibrant colors that's for sure and I do miss it a lot. There's no era within the past 40 years quite like the 80s. You had to live through it whether you were a child, teen or an adult to experience it.

1980 was still kind of like the 70s. The people who in "1980" look like they're an exaggerated version of the about 1986-1987.

Makes me miss the 80s even more.

Accurate, but living in the grey is a choice. I’m about to take a 1700 mile road trip and I’m doing it analog. Just bought my paper road atlas. All the phones are getting locked in the trunk.

Those 80s images are retro, not authentic. The 80s were not that colorful.

This is not the fashion from the year 1980. Far from that. This is the typical one from the late 80's, 1987-1989.

I blame it on Helvetica - the sexy sans-serif font of 2000 adopted by brands worldwide that ushered in a love of sophisticated form and colour palettes. We should be glad it wasn’t Comic Sans 🤷‍♂️

Phones are meant to be at home and at strategic locations. Mobile phones are distractions to real human connections.

The thing is, it’s insane how many of us walk around with our faces buried in our phones on a daily basis,😩 God, I miss the 80s.
