Fun Fact: Superstition is a big deal amongst sailors and seafarers. Cats are thought to bring good luck. British and Irish sailors would often adopt a black cat, which might sound counterintuitive as in some cultures a black cat is considered an evil omen. However, there is some logic to it as cats hunt down and get rid of rodents, who usually live on ships and might chew on ropes or eat food. I remember my uncles working in the engine room and I would go and visit. One of my highlights, seeing the power of a ship engine and trying to board the ship 😆 I was like 7 years old lmfao fk I have done some interesting sht 😅
