Agree with this. I mostly favor martial arts style breathing for focus, control and power on most lifts. The Valsava Maneuver of Hold breath/brace can be situational effective for short rep sets of very heavy weight only, imho: Martial Arts style- Start: Full abdominal breath in > Concentric: Sharp, focused exhale coordinated w muscular bracing > Peak Contraction: Partial Inhale > Eccentric: Controlled coordinated inhale with trunk expansion
