Actually, this method is not quite right. Because the sun is so far away from the Earth, the shadow cast on the ground should be in almost parallel perspective. The shadow in the first example looks more like the shadow cast by candlelight.

how about the heart?

Drawing shadows can add depth and dimension to your artwork. Here are some tips on how to draw shadows: 1. Determine the light source: Before you start drawing shadows, decide where the light source is coming from. This will help you determine where the shadows will fall. 2. Study real-life shadows: Take a look at how shadows are cast in real life. Notice how they change in intensity and shape depending on the angle of the light source. 3. Use different shading techniques: There are various shading techniques you can use to create shadows, such as hatching, cross-hatching, stippling, and blending. Experiment with different techniques to see which one works best for your drawing. 4. Start with a light base: Begin by lightly shading the area where the shadow will be. This will help you build up the intensity of the shadow gradually. 5. Add depth: To create a realistic shadow, make sure to vary the intensity of the shading. Shadows are usually darker closer to the object

I love this video where the perspective draving and projection is imho better explained :)

Awesome tutorial 🖼️

The heart was too pure to get a shadow.

Yes. Do exactly that if you want flat objects that aren’t leaning. You can manipulate the shadow based on the depth you would like to show off

Interesting 🤔

Can one draw a real shadow?
