I love to use a mirror and use my own mouth as reference. When Im drawing an expression I even act it out so I feel it. Did you ever did that or try it? 2/11

Try to understand how the mouth moves. It streches and squishes like a ruber ball! 3/11

Here are a bunch of mouths you could use to practice from. 4/11

Don’t forget the female mouths! Almost the same but you see the lips more. 5/11

The mouth isn’t flat but goes around the head which isn’t flat either. 6/11

Understanding anatomy also helps to make drawing mouths simpler. Here are some examples of simplified anatomy that helped me a bunch. 7/11

Also try to understand how the jaw moves. It rotates and doesn’t drop down. 8/11

Before drawing stylized talking mouths it could help to practice (semi) realistic first. 9/11
