FFS you're just deleting the temporal files in the most nerdy way possible. Windows already has an easy option to do this without accidentally messing up something in CMD. Settings>System>Storage>Temporary Files. Bam. User friendly.

Three of the best! 1. WIN R Type in Temp Now do this for all three. Select all (top right) Move down right click, select delete. 2. WIN R type %Temp% 3. WIN R Type PREFETCH Again top right Select all Move down Right click and choose delete This will clear space, run better.

Or you can just press WIN+R - Type "%temp%" (it opens the temp folder) Press Ctrl + A and then delete.

⚠️ Why you should be careful • The Windows Temp folder is usually safe to clean, but • Some applications store temporary working files there • Deleting them while the app is running can cause errors or force restarts • Running this command with the wrong path could be destructive This specific path is common for system cleanup scripts, but it should be used intentionally.

Most people obsess over %temp% but the real space hogs are Windows Update cache and old installer files. Run Disk Cleanup as admin and check C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download - that folder alone can eat 20-50GB of old update files.

The easiest way would be to get Linux.

Yeah, sure you've went from 20gb free to 86,4gb by only deleting the temp folder. Sure, sure. What a lot of nonsense.

or click windows, type "disk clean", and run disk clean

This method is not recommended. Go to Settings>System>Storage, wait for system to scan your temp files, select temp files then it will give you more detailed information what to delete. This way is much safer than using /q /f /s cmd (its forcing you to delete everything inside.)

Just buy a 4 tb ssd/nvme drive or higher and put windows on it. Working for me so far.

then after the steps on the pictures, just go CTRL A, Delete. Note that your "%temp%" folder might have an icon instead of being blank like mine. Or it won't, because it's a hidden folder most of the time. Also note that you'll free way less space than expected.

Or you start Disc Cleanup from Programs menu. No typing, no copy-pasting. Just three clicks.

There is also another temp folder under the user's AppData. Other temps files are windows updates in another location. Uninstalling games you have not played in months might also help lmfao.
