You are a dope. A wealth tax would be the quickest way to the abyss. We need reform of our tax code, simpler and no loopholes. Regulation cut, that will encourage growth and investment. Quangos gone. MP's with work/life skills. A civil service that works for Govt, not control it.

I thought the program thought provoking but not very balanced. We also need to ask the questions of those on welfare and unwilling to work. Education is a key issue with society as a whole so we must educate people in the reasons. But Gary I am with you how much do you need.

"Tax wealth not work". Pray tell - successful entrepreneur creates a business in UK = creates work. Sells the business and is rich....gets heavily taxed under the "tax the rich" model. OR the entrepreneur can set it up elsewhere and not get heavily taxed - meaning no UK work.

I missed the name of the economist (or lawyer?) in the doc, bald with glasses; but his first few comments were laden with ad hominem (like the replies on here). Where are their actual arguments?

Outdated ideas. The economy drifts between two failing ideologies: We get communism through taxation on one side, and a corporatocracy on the other, where wealth trickles up to global corporations worth billions and trillions. Neither ideology stands up for the ordinary person
