Most important, and not mentioned here, is foods that contain high levels of OXALATES. Oxalates are harmful to kidneys, and bladder causing problems such as kidney stones. Yes, research for popular Superfoods, many are high in Oxalates.

I quit drinking carbonated pop back in 2003 after a Bariatric procedure and didn’t drink soda for 2 decades. After Covid and being on Keto, I now once in a great while drink a zero sugar 7Up w/a Slice of pizza/tacos. I prefer teas & non-carbonated drinks. Thanks for this info!!

What about sparkling water? I’m literally addicted to it. Should I just get the pure kind that doesn’t have natural flavors or is it all bad?

Sodium has been demonized because of the processed foods with sodium. Actual good sodium is used by the body and healthy and the kidneys and liver will excrete the excess. Of course too much of anything is bad but too little is equally as bad ie water too. Whole Foods with salt
