As someone who has to sweep tree leaves off a deck as well as other nonsense dropped from plants, that just looks like something to collect a bunch of crap over time.

What a dumb design.. you can never ever clean it.. it will slowly get covered in mold and smell eventually. Also.. Wyf dude.. who cuts that hard towards themselves lol

Everything about this is dumb. This just creates someplace for bugs, leaves, and trash to collect.

Never cut towards yourself. Especially shirtless 🤣

Hot tip: Never point a Stanley knife or any sharp blade toward your crown jewels and apply force, no matter what happens to be between the knife and your balls - this is the starting sequence of many a mishap tragedy

wouldn't be easier to get corrugated sheet metal and mount it under the deck joists at an angle so if there is anything under the deck you don't want to get wet it will just drain away to the end of the deck? plus be faster and cheaper and last longer

probably works great for about a year, turns into a mess afterward

Does noone else think that cheap plastic and sticky tape is a pretty crappy way to be doing professional work on someone’s home?

Forgot to mention the mosquito ponds that will form, because flexible plastic is a horrible choice.

That is really dumb. If you want a watertight deck, you should use torch-on tar roofing under a floating wood floor.

Until it gets clogged with dirt and leaves and becomes moldy and you have to rip up the deck to clean it...

I don’t recommend it! This is the Trex Rain Escape system. I installed it about 10 years ago in FL and it lasted 6 years before the sun destroyed it. Replaced it with the Dek Drain system ( @dekdrain which is way better and will outlast the deck.

Wish I knew about this before I put my deck boards on, would have loved to use it for water collection.
