1: Visuals that Deliver on the Thumbnail Your audience clicked on the video for a reason. It's super jarring if the first 20 seconds has nothing to do with the visuals/motifs conveyed in the thumbnail, motivating them to click off.

2: Get to it - No Longer than 20 seconds Attention span is getting shorter and shorter, and similarly to above, they clicked on the video for a reason. The more time you take to it, the more the viewer will click away.

3: Know and Convey Your Draw. Understand why someone would want to watch the video. Are there characters they like? Curious about a question? Intrigued by a story? Convey this concept ASAP.
