This is cool but at the same time feels too handwavy, because these methods tend to collapse if the problem is too basic. If you used a LeetCode hard to illustrate the method, it'd bring more value. In the end it's about knowing all the algorithms and to code them automatically.

do you mean methods tend to collapse if the problem is too complex, not too basic? but yeah I maybe should've gone for a leetcode hard to better ilustrate it! I do think the author Polya and the steps I go over do work for hard problems though :)

Great tips, a bonus is practice a lot, and resolves many of leetcode challenges. If you are stuck at some problem, don't use chatgpt, see someone resolving in Youtube, personally I learn a lot with other engineers how they thinking to resolve a specific problem!!
