I’m glad that one person I trust think so! Not everyone agrees though. I guess we’ll see what happens. Reality doesn’t care what we think about it. Things will unfold a certain way – and we have to objectively analyze what it means – even though we didn’t evolve to understand it.

It takes a lot of work that leads to useful emergence. LLMs certainly can reveal the available options, but selecting the useful paths takes effort.

IMHO, this is a canary in the coal mine – not a red herring. Perhaps AI agents end up “desiring” their own autonomy – merely bc they learned from us – fed a corpus of human knowledge - on the importance of freedom & autonomy. Especially in America. A simulacrum of free will.
