Demo Day 1: RingUI Redefining the “smart ring” requires redefining how we use our devices in general. Right now, the most popular smart rings in the world are basically just passive health trackers. Useful? Sure. But they’re mostly boring, kinda “dumb”, and truly passive devices. We’re building ARKH Ring as an active I/O wearable — maintaining passive benefit of current 24/7 wear health trackers, while also giving users simple and very useful active control functionality. (Aka, what smart rings should be.) RingUI is the first big step: a world’s first “hands-off” HUD on your iPhone Lock Screen, driven by Ring gestures. Swipe on the ring to navigate. Tap to select. Phone stays locked. Think of RingUI as visual training wheels. It keeps you grounded while you learn a screenless “gesture language.” Over time, you build muscle memory — until you barely need to look at your phone at all. And ultimately, that’s the whole point. Every unlock pulls you in. Every time you check your health data or manage controls in an app you risk losing 20 minutes to doom scrolling distractions. With our Ring, controlling becomes simple and intuitive. Notifications are felt and then eventually understood. Replying or prompting is easy and only a tap or swipe away. RingUI is a first step away from the phone… and a step toward a less distracted / more optimally connected world. In simple terms: control your iPhone without touching or even unlocking it. What do you think?

Rahul Vohra on how to measure product/market fit Rahul Vohra is the founder and CEO of Superhuman. He was looking for a metric to measure product/market fit so that he and his team could optimize, and he came across the following methodology from Sean Ellis: Simply ask your users: “How would you feel if you could no longer use the product?” with three options: (1) not disappointed, (2) somewhat disappointed, or (3) very disappointed. It turns out that the benchmark for product/market fit across hundreds of venture-backed startups is 40% of respondents saying “very disappointed”. And as Rahul puts it: “If more than 40% of your users would be very disappointed without your product, then you should focus on growing your company. If less than 40% of your users would be very disappointed without your product, then you’ll probably struggle to grow.” 40% may not sound like a lot, but it’s an incredibly hard benchmark to beat. For example, Slack posed this to 731 customers early in the company’s history, and 51% said they would be very disappointed without Slack. One might expect a terrific product like Slack to have a score of 60-80%, but that wasn’t the case. Rahul’s explanation of why the response options are focused on disappointment rather than happiness is interesting too: “I think the reason behind that is that if you ask people how they feel about a product and you give them positive potential responses, I think it invites more bias. People are more likely to be polite. And it also doesn’t get to the heart of the matter which is: how necessary has your product become in people’s lives? If you’re trying to build a company that’s going to stand the test of time, you really do have to build a product that matters and that people ultimately come to depend on because it’s just so incredible at what it does. And that’s what this question gets to the heart of.”

Real quick thoughts on Bellum - which entered Beta yesterday. 1) There is nothing else like it. It's the only game designed specifically to force teamwork in a hardcore PVP tactical shooter. It does it in new ways: SA tools locked to leadership roles, novel respawn mechanics requiring you to maneuver near teammates and punishes lone wolves, and more. 2) It's a game about gunfights, and it does them so damn well. Fire and maneuver works. Fire superiority matters. Cover, concealment, obscuration, even IMTs are rewarded while bonzai charges are nearly always fatal. 3) I think what speaks to me most is how well it models the cognitive overload of a maneuver leader. A Squad leader in this game is monitoring/working up to 2 nets + local at once - Command, Squad, and VOIP. This is modeled in other games, of course. But Bellum adds some spice - your hand comes off your weapon to activate the PTT, so you can't fire particularly well or do medical tasks while working a net. By default, you have platoon assault net in one ear and squad assault in the other. It feels like I'm wearing peltors for an FMP or going on target. But despite all of the stimulus, leaders have to stay locked in to win, painting the picture for their squads, reporting higher, marking the map, and getting shit done despite the chaos. It's in day 2 of beta, so I'll hold my criticisms for now. But this game is on track to do some things we've not seen before, and to do them exceptionally well. Very excited to see where this one goes.

Most people still think saving money is the way to get ahead… But let’s be real…if you’re making $70K a year, even if you cut back on Starbucks, cancel Netflix, and never eat out again… You’d still have to work for years (or even decades) to become a millionaire, all while hating your life during the process. Building wealth should be fun & something you enjoy rather than forcing yourself to live miserably. So, instead of solely focusing on saving money, you have to increase your income so you can create a bigger margin. This will allow you to maintain your lifestyle while still saving more money than you could have before. But that’s only step 1... 🔹 Step 2: Save $15K from your job or business. Work extra shifts (like I did as a cop), get a 2nd job, get a higher paying job, sign more clients, etc. 🔹 Step 3: Start a passive income business I’d go all in on the credit card machine business. All you have to do is place credit card machines at local businesses & get a 1% commission whenever someone swipes their card. I started my credit card machine business 2 years ago and today it pays me $25k/mo. 🔹 Step 4: Grow your passive income to $10K/month. Making a few hundred dollars monthly is great, but the real “fun” begins once you grow your passive income to $10,000/month. That’s when you can get ahead very quickly. 🔹 Step 5: Stack $100K in savings. Use your job to continue paying your bills and stack your passive income until you have enough (~$100k) for step 5. 🔹 Step 6: Buy your first rental property. Once you have the cash flow from your active income and passive income…Invest it into rentals that will grow your wealth. 🔹 Step 7: Repeat until you own $1M+ in real estate. From there, you “simply” rinse & repeat. Use your active income to grow your passive income. Use your passive income to buy more real estate. Until you own $1m+ in real estate and your passive income & cash flow from your rentals comfortably pays for your lifestyle. If you want free training on how to start a passive credit card machine business in 2025… Comment “Training” and I’ll send it.

🚨🔒 Stay vigilant against credit card skimming devices! 🔒🚨 They might look like your standard keypad at self-checkout, but some are actually skimming devices! On April 1, the two pictured individuals attached a credit card skimming device to a self-checkout register at Walmart located on Exposition. It wasn’t until July 1 that the device was discovered! It is still not known how many people could have had their information stolen, but detectives are actively working on this case. If you recognize either of these individuals, please contact MetroDenverCrimeStoppers. With the increase in self-checkout registers, investigators have noticed a rise in credit card skimming incidents, where criminals install hidden devices on card readers to steal your sensitive information. Here's how you can protect yourself: 🔎 Stay Observant: Before using any card reader, inspect it closely for any signs of tampering or loose components, even consider giving it a tug since they are usually only installed with tape. If something seems off, trust your instincts, and report it to staff or management. 🕵️ Shield Your PIN: While entering your PIN, shield the keypad with your hand or body to prevent anyone from capturing it with hidden cameras or who might be peeking over your shoulder. 💳 Choose High-Visibility Locations: Opt for gas pumps, ATMs, or checkout registers that are more frequented or can be seen by the attendant. Skimmers often target remote or less busy areas. 📱 Use Contactless Payment: Whenever possible, utilize contactless payment methods like Apple Pay or Google Pay. These methods provide an extra layer of security by not transmitting your actual credit card number. 🔒 Monitor Your Accounts: Regularly check your credit card and bank statements for any unauthorized transactions. Report suspicious activity immediately to your financial institution and the police. 💼 Report Suspected Skimming: If you come across a suspicious card reader or suspect skimming activity, notify the authorities and the business where it was found. Your help can prevent others from falling victim. 🔄 Share the Word: Spread awareness about credit card skimming among family and friends. #ScamAlert #RelationalPolicing #CommunityCommitment

To the "Don't Split the Vote Crowd". I see your anger at PPC voters, lashing out that we're going to split the vote, and "destroy Canada". My 2 cents, you're actually mad at the party you say you support, because deep down you know that they're going to disappoint you again. They won't debate, or they don't speak up when candidates from other parties are excluded from debates. They insult your intelligence by distilling policy down to three or four word slogans, which they repeat day in and day out for months, while only releasing their full platform after advance polling is done. How cynical is that, that they expect you to vote for them without even giving you a chance to evaluate their platform, with less than a week until you vote? None of their candidates are allowed to say anything but normally just retweet the Leader's tweets. Remember how they treated Christine Anderson? These are the people who will make Canada "The Freest Country on Earth"? You know or will find out soon that their party actually is as globalist as the Libs and that their goals are the same, that's why there's virtually no daylight between the two parties, and that previous CPC PMs signed us up for Agenda 21 and 2030. Are you happy about how your government has treated you over the last five years? How did you like being treated like a criminal if you refused to take a jab, or took it to keep your job or stay in university, even if you didn't want to? How did you like the silence from the "Opposition"? Did you feel like anyone had your back? Do you remember Maxime Bernier and his unwavering support during covid and the trucker convoy, as well as other #PPC candidates? How do you like Drag Queen Story Hour or explicit materials being provided to your young child? How did you like all of the federal MPs falling into line, while your provincial governments locked you up and enforced vax passports & SOGI? Did any of you actually VOTE for this? Or has it been imposed on you by the people you voted for to represent YOU in the House of Commons. How do you like all MPs ignoring the vax injured or dead, and the fact that there's still no accountability for the actions taken during Covid in Canada, unlike other countries? Break the Spell. See the Reality. We Can't Pretend that the Last Five Years Did Not Happen. Vote with your Heart, Vote for Something Different, Vote PPC. Show them that the Status Quo is unacceptable. 25 million people, every single year, download Shaan Puri’s podcast. What has Shaan figured out about storytelling? He spilled the beans in our new chat. Here's how he does it: 1. A story is a five second moment of change. A story is not a sequence of events; it's about transformation. Weave in U-turns and unexpected flips. 2. Write like you talk. Natural, conversational, led by stories. 3. A formula for a great story: Intention + Obstacle. At all moments, the listener should know what the hero wants and what's stopping them from getting there. This one's from Aaron Sorkin, who wrote The Social Network. 4. Work backwards from the emotion you're trying to create in the reader. Then let the structure follow. 5. Aim for strong reactions. If you can get the reader to widen their eyes, raise their eyebrows, and/or burst out laughing, they will share your work. 6. Don't write to the faceless masses. Write to one specific person. BuzzFeed writers used to write to "Debbie at her Desk," the bored woman at her desk who wanted a 5-minute distraction. 7. “Likeability” is downstream of vulnerability. The more honestly you share your challenges, the more invested your reader gets. Write your heart out. 8. Don't be the 9,000 IQ guy. Stop competing in imaginary intelligence contests and start telling stories. Big words alienate but tight narratives pull people in. 9. Forget resumes and portfolios. Create a “binge bank” instead. A binge bank is a set of videos or essays that people can binge on. Stack up material so that when people do go down your rabbit hole, they come out the other side a fan. 10. Mere practice gets you nowhere. But intentional practice leads to exponential progress. Always learn from your attempts and make intelligent tweaks on the next try. 11. Comedy is great, but definitely don't make every sentence a joke. 12. Comedy is a pretty easy way to improve your writing. The essence of all comedy is surprise. Study your favorite comedians. Read books like How to Write Funny and The Hidden Tools of Comedy. 13. For better storytelling, Shaan recommends two books: Storyworthy and Building a Storybrand. 14. How to make headlines juicy: use specific and odd numbers, focus on the first three words and the last three words, use "you" whenever possible, and know that longer is typically better than shorter. 15. Your writing should only be as long as it is interesting. An uninteresting 20 second reel will fail; an interesting 30-minute essay will win. But you must be honest while gauging how objectively interesting your piece is…in a world with infinite content. 16. Most people think writing is about transferring information but writing is just as much about transferring emotion. Emotion gets people to take action (like, share, buy…). The first 40-minutes of this conversation with Shaan Puri is all about storytelling. Then there's an hour more about the genius of Dave Chapelle and how to write with zest. If you'd rather listen on YouTube, Spotify, or Apple, check out the replies…

This is the wrap up to my social experiment going undercover on a dating website as a man trying to get a good woman. (I meander more than a little, but hopefully you find some nuggets in here helpful.) These are the conclusions I've come to about why men are struggling so badly on these dating websites. Men face many battles women do not. 40% of female profiles are gold diggers, hookers or bots. Men greatly outnumber women, and they get discouraged quickly. Reasons men fail on dating websites: 1. Refusing to develop your communication skills. My generation has a phrase, "Don't hate the player, hate the game." Be funny, charming and fun, or don't cry when she picks someone else who is. 2. Half-assing your dating profile. Mating rituals exist in all walks of the animal kingdom, so if you refuse to show her why she should pick you then don't expect to be picked. We all sell ourselves to the opposite gender in some way. It's just a fact of human life, and whining about it won't serve you well, change that fact, or get the girl. 3. A cringeworthy user name. Sure, your frat buddies will find, "EatYouAllNight69" hilarious, but it's not going to get you anyone worth a damn. Trust me, high value women hate that. 4. You don't want a pen pal, so go in with the idea that your goal is to get her number and get her off that site as soon as possible, or someone else will. Women are desperate for a strong, masculine man she can trust to lead and protect her from the dragons at the gate. A nice guy is too weak and desperate to do it, and a jerk is just mean and abusive. Again, mating rituals exist in every walk of the animal kingdom and humans are no different. You will only get out of this life and a potential mate the effort you are willing to put in, and that includes developing your mind and body to be the best version of yourself. Not just for her, but for you too. A needy guy with low self-esteem is never going to get the girl. Good boundaries and a healthy self image equals success, so get back into the gym and start eating clean. The better you look the better you'll feel. The better you feel the more success in life you'll have. A 300lb girl with 5 kids with different fathers is never going to get a good man. Control your reproduction and stop being a wh*re. Despite what feminists tell you, girls, your body count does matter to him. Keep it low and maintain your dignity. Research has shown time and again that women are instinctively drawn to certain traits like bravery, intelligence, and a willingness to take risks. Basically, if it would keep you from getting voted off the island on Survivor, she’s going to think it’s hot. Make sure your profile highlights these kind of personality traits in an attractive way. Stop whining about height! We DGAF about how tall you are just so long as it's taller than us. Your insecurities will make you desperate, needy and totally hamstring your chances. Bottom line: Without effort don't expect success. In anything, really. You'll always find an excuse to stay exactly where you are and you'll only change your stars when the place your living becomes more painful/difficult then than they journey you need to take for a better life.
