I asked Grok to display a transcript for the video: ‘Here's how to win every argument forever. If you argue with facts, you already lost. Never correct. First ask how they arrived at the idea. Never say that's wrong. Say that's interesting. Mirror their last five words and then just pause. Lower your voice when they escalate. Slow your pace down when they speed up. Agree with their emotion and always completely ignore their conclusions. Repeat their point better than they can. Let them finish talking then wait two seconds longer than feels normal for you. Ask questions that you already know the answer to. Reframe all of their positions as self-protection. Never defend yourself under pressure. Change context before content. Ask for clarification at the peak of emotion. Label their fear and never their flaws. End with a question they have to sit with. All of these work for the exact same reason. You don't win arguments by being right, you win by making it safe to be wrong.’

Would be cool to see examples of this being played out

Each one of your points should be a separate post w examples

If your goal is to win then you've lost. Ask why you seek the validation of "winning". Conversation is more constructive when we're humble and want to learn together. Ideas can compete freely in our minds, we don't have to ham-fistedly act out the battle as a team sport.

Someone who consistently treats disagreement as a battlefield is not someone you can reason with. These types are toxic and eventually erode every relationship around them. They are not trying to figure out what's true, they are trying to dominate and gain an advantage to hide their own weaknesses and insecurities. Over time, this mindset kills trust, weakens teams, and destroys organizations. It’s a terrible way to live.

Could have used your advice 45 minutes ago.

Much simpler way: Don't talk about shit you aren't educated on and have researched beforehand. You don't have to comment on everything on earth just shut up when you don't know something and you'll be good.

This is toxic debating, because it is not about finding the truth but winning the argument only. Arguments should never be seen as a fight, but as a way to get to the core of things, be it beliefs, ideas or concepts.

He is wrong. Narcissists will NOT admit they are wrong. Their entire life is built on their lies. He is also correct. He's talking about manipulating irrational non-critical thinkers. This is a significant portion of people. Rational, logical, and honest people do not need these kid gloves. Their goal is to have correct information and are thankful for information that shows they were wrong about something. They can't be offended. They prefer direct communication. This group is the extreme minority.

Now here is fallacy #1: you never argue with an idiot. So much effort just to convince an idiot. My procedure: just avoid, 0 effort. You @nciuniversity should know, danger avoidance is best survival practise.

“You don’t win arguments by being right. You win arguments by making it safe to be wrong.”

You know, it is so funny when someone pulls that or many other techniques out of their bag of 'tricks'. Really funny when they try it on a master. Sometimes leaving them so confused and jumping over barriers in their mind like an olympian clearing hurdles. I prefer computers though.

if someone attempted to debate my autistic ass like this and the first step is "arguing with facts you already lost" brother you come at me without facts i wont even listen to you. its even worse when you cannot back up the facts you think you know then again people are stupid

I LOVED IT! on my second read, and I know I’ll be on my third soon 🤜🤛

If you feel you need to win, you already lost.

The goal isn't to win the argument with the person. It's to convince the audience.

YOU'RE COMPLETELY WRONG!!!! HOW CAN ANYBODY BE SO CLUELESS!!! STATISTICS SHOW THAT SIX OUT OF SEVEN PEOPLE WHO TRY THESE DEBATE TECHNIQUES, IN FACT, *LOSE* THE DEBATE!!!! ISN'T THIS OBVIOUS???!!! IT MAKES ME *SO* ANGRY TO HEAR THIS KIND OF MANIPULATION!!!!! AND I DEEM MYSELF TO BE THE WINNER OF THIS DEBATE BECAUSE I'M THE MASTER OF THE INTERNET BY WAY OF POSSESSING ADVANCED CAPITALIZATION SKILLS!!! *Note¹ – The above is to be heard rapid-fire *Note² – The above is to be heard at loud volume *Note³ – My six year old makes me put "67" in everything for some reason, but the fact that six out of seven experts agree with me is just a coincidence

How to win every argument without a word...

Facts and logic have no importance to someone who only wants to 'win' the argument.

oh dear - yet another sword battle. all looks a bit silly to me. Star Dunes: generic good v evil dressed as Sci-Fi.

Yeah, but I really like to be right. :)

Yea this doesn't work w/ immature, egotistical ppl looking to get a ONE UP on u... The best way to win an argument vs TOXIC ppl is to stonewall. Let them reflect on their actions & behaviors. U are right about 1 thing, u dont need to win an argument w/ an ignorant TOXIC person

Respect for that dude. But I never want to win the argument. Nor to fight to prove anything. People believe what they wish, if facts are not enough, why not let them stay ignorant? Will winning in arguing change their beliefs?

This guy doesnt know my wife

How did he arrive at that idea...I agree he is passionate that 'making it safe to be wrong' is how he wins the argument...That's interesting. 'Making it safe to be wrong'; questioner controls the narrative, labels emotions/fears and ignores conclusions. Winning vs being right..

I like my way better 🤣

It seems like he’s explaining how to let the other person spin their wheels like it’s argument clock management. But I don’t think that you’re going to convince the other person to agree with you by repeating what they’re saying back to them in a difference tone than theirs.

@Chuck_Petras Chris Voss approach to a tee

The 1st answer to any question: " That's a great question "

@grok transcript

Genuinely feel sorry for your missus 🤣🤣🤣

@grok he outlines some interesting ideas, I want you to make it more practical, useable, and clear even to a user with zero to little knowledge on this stuff. Use the full length character limit you're allowed per output. Don't compress. Don't summarise.

Better to get away, and let someone else coddle the baby.

...or simply walk away.

@RustyE83 Come try that passive aggressive feminine 💩 over here. Men. You aren’t women. 🕵🏻♂️
