A great white encounter. Biz as usual in South Australia, Western Australia, South Africa, New South Wales, Nth California, SoCal, Cape Cod and I guess NZ now. If you see them they’re curious. If you don’t they’re dangerous. Paddle towards them and interact. Pretty cool ocean experience that we’ve seen often at San Onofre.

Veteran angler Elliot Sudal accidentally hooked and landed an 8.5 to 9-foot, roughly 300-pound great white shark from the shore of Nantucket's south shore. Because the great white is a federally protected species, Sudal straddled the shark in the surf to safely remove the hook, releasing it in just 15 seconds. Sudal, known for tagging and researching sharks, has caught over 1,000 sharks in Nantucket waters, but this was his very first great white catch. The intense and rare encounter was captured by beachgoers on video, showing him wrestling with the line and hauling the apex predator to the shallows before sending it back out to sea.

Great White shark just off the coast of Montauk, NY today....what a beauty! This drone footage was taken today, May 12, 2025 in Montauk, New York. At 8:30am this morning I spotted my first Great White Shark of the season! Just a few hundred feet from the coast of Montauk. An 8-foot shark was caught on camera hunting in the shallow waters at a sandbar in the Florida Keys, chasing down a large Tarpon in water that looks barely deep enough to swim in. This is a reminder that during early summer these apex predators move into the shallows to feed - and they don’t care who else is out there. After seeing what a shark is capable of up close, I would have been out of that water quick… How fast would you have moved?

Making it 5-4 in FAVOUR. This is the very bill NZ First told the public they would block without sufficient safeguards - the one they said would never allow GMO or gene-edited organisms into the environment.
