Howard Cosell's "Halftime Highlights" From ABC's Monday Night Football, October 1, 1979 • Broncos at Raiders • Vikings at Lions (Paul Krause's NFL record-tying 79th career interception) • Dolphins at Jets • Steelers at Eagles • Browns at Oilers • Buccaneers at Bears

When I was a kid I would BEG my mom to let me watch the halftime highlights so I could keep up with what was going on in the NFL. Then I’d have to go straight to bed. I miss those days and I sure do miss my mom.

I remember watching that Raider’s game with the Casper over the shoulder catch. I haven’t seen it since then. It’s the weirdest thing. I totally remember that catch! Thank you for posting.

I remember they only had highlights of a few games, and fans got mad when their team didn’t make the highlights. Another excuse for fans to hate on Cosell.

i probably wasn't up to watch this. monday night games started at 9 then. i was only allowed to stay up and watch Charger games. love watching these. takes me back.

I don’t think I ever heard Howard misspeak before? He paused, like he was confused a bit, then said Oakland rebounded to just “crash” Denver, instead of crush.

Loved Cosells' halftime highlights..actually loved the whole ABC MNF crew..remember the 1st mnf game was in 1970, the Browns beat my Jets..Gifford wasn't part of the crew. Keith Jackson Howard Cosell Dandy Don...great memories..thx for posting!!

2nd only to Boomer for highlights show.
