What’s done is done. So I got back to work this morning. December 2020 sarcoma cancer took my left leg above the knee. I cried for one day and then I worked my ass off to walk again. I found out Monday there is a real possibility sarcoma cancer will now take a large portion of my right leg. I cried for a few minutes and now it’s time to build strength in my upper body. We can focus on what we lost or choose to focus on what we can gain. I chose the latter. Every step is a finish line. Team Never Quit

Today’s play was $PISTACIO. I still remember when I couldn’t even afford a pair of shoes, and watching my parents cry because we couldn’t afford the rent. That’s when my life changed. I made a promise to myself that I would change our situation and take my family somewhere better. After years of hard work, studying, and countless sleepless nights, I can finally say I’ve taken care of my entire family. This is why I never stopped.

My next all in is $FLNC - special shout out to Kevin Xu for bringing this one to my attention. I entered today because I like this kind of downward price action prior to earnings. My high level approach is if something goes down prior to earnings it has a higher chance of going up after and vice versa.

Saw a few comments about when you use FSD you just sit there like a zombie not paying attention but it’s the complete opposite. When I use FSD my situational awareness is higher than anyone driving manually. I don’t have to hyper focus on a number on the screen or keeping my car between two lines and can focus on everything else around me. I’m surprised how distracted people are while they operate a motor vehicle.

About that word "Hysteresis." Or, why I had to backspace 300 times while writing this post. My AC does not maintain a constant 72 degrees. Instead, it lets the temperature creep up to 73, then turns on the chiller until the temp drops to 71. Thus, my bedroom bounces slowly between the upper and lower hysteresis bounds. Don't worry; this story has a point. Likewise, when I cruise down the interstate, I do not maintain a constant speed down the exact center of the lane. Instead, I correct when my speed creeps up, or when I veer left. When my 19-yr-old son drives, I cannot feel his corrections. He drives like a thermistat that holds the temperature between 71.99 and 72.01. The women drive differently. With Mrs. Jerk at the wheel, I feel like a mouse being sucked through a corrugated vacuum hose.

Deep in my heart I bleed, my face often washed with silent tears, and sometimes my mind shuts down from the weight of it all. I crave freedom, yet every window feels sealed, every door locked, even the ventilators no longer bring fresh air to my lungs. It feels like the world is closing in on me. But still… something stronger lives within me. What strengthens me is this: I still breathe. I still find the courage to speak. And somewhere in my soul, joy refuses to die. Because the One who lives in me walked through the valley of death and came out victorious. He was humiliated. Stripped. Beaten. Treated with inhuman cruelty yet He rose. So if I find myself in the valley, I must also rise. I must grow. For if I do not, no one absolutely no one will lift me for me. So I call on heaven and on my own bones: Raise my spirit. Strengthen my body. Teach my heart to stand again and again!

Last week I booked a last-minute flight and stay in Cabo less than 12 hours to take-off because I was freezing my ass off at home, feeling like a “hostage” to the market. I forgot my swimming trunks and had to buy 2 of them for an eye-watering $450 USD (still wtf’ing at Grand Velas boutique)… And STILL, it was much cheaper than sitting around grinding it out when the market wasn’t there for me. Trading is one of the few professions where you can literally lose vacations/cars/houses etc AND, more importantly, TIME simultaneously while “working”. And so, I often think to myself if I’m so willing to part ways with my trading PNL, then why not just spend that on something tangible. I remember one of my biggest losing days in 2021, I decided to just buy the watch I wanted instead of waiting to feel “good” about my PNL. Our perspectives warp when we stare at numbers and desensitize ourselves to the true ups and downs. Whenever I spend the money it grounds me, “this is what this is worth”. Whenever I’m able to tip generously, especially in areas where the dollar goes farther, I feel more connected to my pursuit of trading for a living. Serendipitously making someone’s day with an outlier tip is one of my favorite things to do. Extremely hard working people who don’t get appreciated often, meanwhile we lose their salaries in pajamas… it’s madness. I just want to point out that I know people feel it, but don’t act on it. Try to exercise some of your freedoms as a trader and realize it’s okay to step away whenever you want and you don’t need permission to just do what you want when you want. You’ll probably come to so similar conclusions for yourself.
