More details: - optional feature, PR in review. Will work primarily with the popular visual explainer skill. - use wisely and when visual explainers add value (knowledge understanding, review effort, etc), due to: - rough measurement, about 5x tokens vs markdown. This is without optimization like using tailwind/cdn vs raw css (half the tokens). Will optimize along the way.

I get the theory, but it seems like with a HTML file it will just tear through tokens… Is the trade off worth it?

We will find out! 1. optional feature, fits in nicely since the tool already annotates any file; primary is markdown 2. Interesting to think about cost tradeoffs of cleaner explainers upfront, or in review, and how much they save (cost, tokens/rerolls). I will personally spend some time (@backnotprop) measuring. 3. Maybe models will optimize for this? Could always template, but thats no fun. Transparently, the example in video: HTML: 7,000 tokens MD eqiv: 1,300 tokens

Yeah I can under how it could potentially be better. And how the better human readability has a bonus too. But oof that’s a big token difference

definitely, some optimization opportunities though. e.g. tailwind/cdn would've helped, the css is about half the cost.

Hey, just wanted to say that I'm having a blast using this more and more. To give some fb I noticed then that whenever I use the goal setup skill within codex, it will sometimes be impatient and run "plannotator sessions --open 1" while I'm still reading - can this be mitigated?

Ive been iterating a bunch on this & have refined the skill to a much simpler, yet maybe more powerful state. A lot easier for you to review - focuses on facts of the thing you want.
