"HTTPS already encrypts everything, so VPNs are useless." ❌ One of the biggest myths I hear! Here’s why a VPN is still essential, and how your ISP can still see the sites you visit, even with secure DNS enabled. Watch the full video here👇

The difference would be that instead of your ISP knowing the sites you visit, now your VPN provider knows instead. I'm not sure that's always an upgrade!

No mention of custom DNS like Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1? You should never let your ISP be your DNS.

VPN doesn't hide it either, you just shift your trust.

Cloudflare supports ESNI but it’s not utilized much and only Firefox supports it

Mate they are using bluetooth to fingerprint our devices, super cookies and other ridiculous methods to track us. VPN doesn't help as much as you suggest.

That is why you be your own dns resolver. All it really does is spoof your ip address to the server you connect to. So unless you are hacking in a dumb way by using your own internet connection its pretty pointless unless they already had blocked your ip address.

Doesn't DoH exist exactly for that reason?

My pushback is usually how do you know you're using https? With browsers it's fairly obvious but what about programs and mobile apps? How does the average user know? Even tech-savvy users won't know unless they fire up Wireshark or something.

Can you make a video on how vpns providers handle so much bandwidth for such a cheap monthly price… Like really… 2TB through their pipes for $2 a month??? And my isp wants $100 a month for the same thing???

If you can't trust VPN, use Tor only, or maybe Tor + VPN.

So you use a VPN to hide the websites you visit from your ISP, but your VPN provider still knows what you’ve visited. At that point, use Tor if you want to hide yourself.

I hate when my clients use VPN because it often triggers "impossible traveler" alerts and some sites just block VPN traffic or the VPN node goes offline, so I get "my internet is not working" tickets.

HTTPS myth is still alive and well. When you’re setting up the VPN + copying configs, keys or commands on Mac, Nancy just holds the full local history so nothing critical gets overwritten mid-setup. Clipboard that actually helps the privacy stack. 📋

It's like I mailed a sealed letter but used my nosy neighbor as the mailman. He can't read it, but he knows exactly where it went. That's your ISP.

Bro, using mainstream VPN aint helping either to "hide from ISP which websites you visit" I can bet this video is sponsored by mainstream VPN.

I not entirely agree @NetworkChuck For Domain Traders AO #VPN ads Crucial Layer before (Sub)Domain are / can be Protected with AOT #SSL (Íf not automatically). Fairly Important / Crucial. 🟨
