Hudson Hawk (1991) Bruce Willis action/comedy blockbuster about a cat burglar that was a notorious box office flop. I've always liked this film, it's a bizarre sometimes surreal, funny movie with a great cast and way over the top bad guys. What do you think?🤔

Bunny? Ball ball!

😂👍🏻

Parents had it on laserdisc…laughed a few times…should probably revisit..,I remember Bruce repeating a line about “Raindeer Goat Cheese Pizza” (That he also said in “The Last Boyscout”) WTF LOL

Must've been his favourite food that year 😁

@grok , got any leads on this? (The quote from Bruce)

It's a running gag Bruce Willis pulled in both 1991 films. In Hudson Hawk he spots it on a fancy bar menu and cracks "Reindeer goat cheese pizza? I've been known to go wild with Canadian bacon, but..." In The Last Boy Scout it's the killers chowing down on it (plus chicken Marsala) at Spago's. Pure dig at pretentious yuppie food.

Any film that uses Swingin' On A Star as a musical stopwatch to do a heist, is fine by me.

“..ugh.. menthol!..”

Massively underrated

Loved it from the start and was fortunate to discuss it with Bruce around 2005. He felt horrible for the other actors in it as he saw the (critics/press) attacks to the movie and it’s cast as personally directed to him. He has a belief though (as do I) that every film eventually gets seen whether on theaters, home video, airplanes, etc. And he added that the movie IS in profit.

I really like this film - definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. I don’t find too many people who share in my enjoyment of this movie.

Found one ✋🏻😄

Nice to know there are others out there.

I had no problem with it. A lot of fun.

You are not alone. One of my favourite :)

I absolutely love this movie! Makes me laugh every time I watch it!

It was about a decade ahead of its time with its quirky humour but is very underrated and didn't deserve to be a flop. 😊

I’ve always felt 🫤meh about it ! - don’t get it twisted!! I love Bruce .. I’m a life long fan!! DIE HARD is my 3rd favourite Christmas movie of ALL TIME‼️.. but.. I’m thinking I should by the Blu-ray a give HUDSON HAWK another go.

I've always just loved how completely bizarre it is. It's set in the real world but some of it is just so cartoony and it's crazy😄

When I get the BR an have watch it again with adult eyes, I’ll get back to ya👊🏽

Hope you enjoy it 😄👊🏼

I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head with that description. I've loved it since seeing the "Swing on a Star" heist as a kid. It's basically one big live action carton. Richard. E Grant hates it, and called Mark Kermode an idiot for liking it!

This film was way ahead of it's time.

Why does this movie get so much hate. I think it’s interesting and it’s just a product of the 90s

Love it.

Agreed. It was silly and sometimes clever. I enjoyed it for what it was.

My dad was the only person I ever knew that liked this movie ha

I became a fan recently and constantly rewatch. Way ahead of its time. Adults were too mature in the early 90s to like an R rated comic book movie. Meanwhile, too dirty for kids. So it had no audience.

That was that Bruce at his peak era where studios just threw whatever his way and hoped it would be the next Die Hard.

I love this movie and I don’t care!!!

I thought it was enjoyable but a little muddled… it’s hard to understand the villains’ motives for crashing the world economy

I'm not sure the filmmakers understood what the villains' motives were either😄

Love this movie!

I loved this movie. I remember watching it at a drive in movie theatre with my dad.

I'm usually not a "misunderstood it the first time so I'll have to watch it again" kinda guy. There are too many movies I *haven't* seen for me to make room for a movie that I didn't like. But it's been so long since I watched HH so maybe I'll have to watch it again.

I think Hudson Hawk was maybe a little ahead of it's time. If it's been a long time, as a fan, I'd recommend a rewatch, hope you like it if you give it another chance😄👍🏻

It's the worst movie I ever saw in a cinema.

It's definitely not for everyone 🤷🏻♂️

I love it! It's just a goofy movie that wasn't trying to be more than it was. This movie fell into the pit of immediate bad reviews & wasn't everyone's taste. This was Bruce Willis being Bruce Willis.

I need to watch this at some point. I understand it's one where the marketing didn't do it any favours - audiences were expecting Die Hard 2.5 or something.

It's nothing like Die Hard, it's crazy, oftentimes bizarre action comedy, with a lot more comedy than action. I find it's one of those movies the majority seem to either really love or really hate. It's well worth checking out though, especially if you're a Bruce Willis fan😄👍🏻

😄👍🏻

I always felt like it juust missed whatever it was going for, and if they'd hit the mark, it would be remembered as some kind of brilliant one of a kind movie.

It’s not for me

Saw it twice in theaters, including opening night. My friends and I knew almost immediately that we were watching something different but definitely enjoyed it. Still watch it from time to time.
