I really, really, really wanted to drop this song last year. When I first put out the snippet, I was so excited - but it was hard to finish it on time because everything was a blur. I was sick and weak and nauseous and tired and my body just wouldn't do what I wanted it to. Even in the snippet video, I wasn't feeling great. I was just trying my best. I adore Chike's voice and I knew it was him that had to be on the song with me. When I asked him to give me a verse, he was so ready to go, but he was out of town. As soon as he came back, he came over to my studio the next day 🥹. I got a lotta respect for him. He didn't know I was pregnant and suffering 😅 Watching this video back now, I can't even understand where the energy came from. When the song was done, I struggled to mix it. Even so, I decided to master it myself. I hate mastering, so I don't know what I thinking. I was so disappointed that I couldn't meet the deadline. Everyone had fallen in love with the song and was asking me to put it out. I didn't have the energy to make content. I don't even remember them recording this video. Given how much I love this song, I'm a little bummed I couldn't give it energy it deserves. But please, know that a lot of love and resilience went into this song. I hope that you can let less be more for this one. I hope you can give it the energy that I couldn't. That I can't. The Game opens up about surviving getting sh0t five times and spending nearly a month in a coma. He says he was robbed at the dope house at midnight after all the sales had stopped while he was playing Madden. He heard a knock on the door, he opened it to a scrawny kid, two more dudes came behind him and he was fighting for his life. He was sh0t in the chest, stomach, leg, and arm before crawling to the bathroom to call 911. I went sourcing for my rent, and I came back home a Landlord. My rent was due since March, I had pleaded with the landlord to give me some time to sort it out, and he had been patient. Business was not doing very well, and we were depending on my wife’s earnings to survive. I have a big brother who grew up in our neighbourhood. He was an artist at the time, and I used to hang around him while he worked. I developed an interest in artwork because of him, and he was my inspiration for studying sculpture and other art forms, which led me to become who I am today. This man had become a politician in another state. I had not seen him in several years, but we exchange messages via text and WhatsApp once in a while, especially regarding some artworks and politics. I never gave him the impression that I was struggling because I felt it would affect our relationship but I was desperate this time around and decided to go and see him. During the Night of Glory, as we ministered to the Lord and words of prophecy were being spoken, the man of God said “I have given it to you, I have supplied you with that heart desire. That thing you have been waiting for and trusting God for is now yours. Share your testimony with me when you receive it.” I heard these words from brother Gbenga, and I couldn’t relate. The only thing I had been thinking about in my heart was how to visit this mentor of mine and ask him for support regarding my rent. I decided that the prophecy was a green light for me to take a step of faith I gathered as much money as my wife could loan me and travelled to this man’s state. I deliberately targeted the primary election period when I was sure he would have to be on the ground in his state and not in Abuja. I met him at home; he had just won his primary election and was in a very good mood. He felt i came around to give him moral support. Later that evening, I told him about my rent issue. He made two calls and told me to go and pick up the keys to the house in Lagos. He also gave me some money to settle all the estate bills and meet other needs. Today is the one-year anniversary of the 2nd-happiest moment of my life: The night I got to see MY PRESIDENT destroy Biden at the debate. For 4 years, that ahole had made a MOCKERY of being the leader of the best country on earth. He had spat out the word "MAGA" like it was the N-word. He had called us trash and garbage and Nazis and white supremacists. He had opened our border WITHOUT CONGRESSIONAL APPROVAL. He had caused record-high inflation while telling us it was our imagination. He had given $167–$500 billion to deadbeat studen loan repayment. He had brought 10-30 million illegals here to rape, pillage and murder. Not to mention the race-baiting, the orchestrated division, and the extended Covid lockdowns. AND: HE DID IT ALL WHILE LYING TO US ABOUT NOT HAVING DEMENTIA. So watching him MELTDOWN under the weight of it was a supreme triumph for me. Because it proved to all the liberals I had fought with that I WAS RIGHT. And so today, watching Trump clean up Biden’s mess, I feel especially happy and vindicated. And I STILL LAUGH every time I see a clip of him getting his just desserts. Because GOD showed him who was the boss that night. And he showed ME that EVIL doesn't always triumph like the Left wants.
