Zelensky was never given an off-ramp to do so by the EU and the Biden administration. He will do what America tells him to do whether he likes it or not. It’s worth noting that the Ukrainian parliament passed a law that prohibits them from negotiating with the Russians, but that too will change because reality—and Trump—demand it.
