Huh, interesting, didn’t even know that this works, coupling TGV Duplex with a old single floor one, first time I see that ^^

It's a quite common thing to do! The TGV Réseau are compatible with all the TGV Duplex! (But the TGV Atlantique you could see in West of France only work together)

Très fréquent,et ça marche bien. Par contre les nouveaux TGV M ne seront pas compatibles avec les anciens TGV.

It does work. I don’t know how it works, but it does. Also in India in some stretches due to gradient they attach bankers loco at the end of train. The banker can be different than the main loco. I don’t know how they match the acceleration.

What is the maximum speed then? Surely not so high depending on the coupling ?

"if it fits it sits" deal

Ça arrive tous les jours :)

@TheRailwayPal Why would you fit different couplers to trains built by the same company using the same line?

“SNCF it is possible!”

Take a translator and enjoy it 😉👇🏼
