This is fascinating. I believe that Polynesian islands were settled as early as 500BC. The simulation doesn't seem to show that.

There is some evidence that humans somehow got to south america 50k years ago... possibly by way of polynesia. I don't know the specifics though. Most crossed the land bridge to north america.
