An interesting look at the experimental LVHX2 Hydrofoil landing vehicle from the early 1960's - for when you need to get to your beach landing quickly. Powered by a 1,040-horsepower gas turbine engine, achieving up to 40 mph on water and 40 mph on land; self-stabilizing hydrofoil system with autopilot for level operation in waves up to 5 feet high. The project was ultimately canceled because land-based mine plows proved more practical and less burdensome for the existing fleet.😎
