Only stupid people take out of their 401k. Dipping just 10k out of retirement equals about 35k to 40k loss over 20 years.

When you’re married a lot of 401k plans require a spouse’s signature as well for a withdrawal. Apparently his did not.

While I agree that a 401k under his name would be his money, cashing it out for a replica gun is a retarded and selfish thing to do. However, if there is more to it (have not seen this one in full), then maybe there is a reason.
