Maybe I should have allowed this. During childbirth, when my infant's head crowned - he though I was laying an egg sack and the whole baby was just in the sack. The nurse said "No, no, that's just the top of his head" and that's when my husband gasped, then passed out. He was so disgusted by the whole thing too.
