Once again the diagram is misleading The voice over is correct, but the diagram does not reflect the action well. Pedal in, the clutch bearing pushes against pressure plate tongs. This causes the outer part of pressure plate to move back. This releases pressure on clutch plate.

That’s a nonsense diagram/animation.

So the transmission shaft sets the clutch disc into motion. The clutch engages and throws the clutch disc against the fly wheel shaft and set this in rotation, while the transmission shaft is stopped. Sorry, but this has to set some kind of record in stupidity of animation.
