Plot Summary: Obsessed (2009) is a psychological thriller starring Idris Elba as Derek Charles, Beyoncé Knowles as his wife Sharon, and Ali Larter as the obsessive temp Lisa Sheridan.Plot summary (spoilers ahead, but kept to key beats):Derek Charles is a successful, happily married executive who has just received a major promotion. He lives in a beautiful home with his loving wife Sharon and their young son Kyle. His life appears perfect until a temporary office worker, the attractive and flirtatious Lisa Sheridan, is assigned to assist him.Lisa misinterprets Derek's friendly professionalism as romantic interest and begins aggressively pursuing him. Derek firmly rejects her advances multiple times — including at an office Christmas party and in other awkward encounters — but Lisa refuses to accept "no" and escalates her behavior. She stalks him, shows up uninvited at his home, invades his personal space, and fabricates situations that make him appear guilty or compromised at work.Derek keeps the situation secret from Sharon at first, which only worsens things when Lisa's actions start affecting his marriage and reputation. As Lisa's obsession spirals into dangerous territory — including breaking into the family home and extreme acts of manipulation — the Charles family faces increasing threats. The tension builds toward a climactic confrontation where Sharon takes a stand to protect her family, leading to a violent showdown with Lisa in the house as the stalker refuses to let go.The film is often described as a modern, gender-swapped take on Fatal Attraction-style thrillers (with no actual infidelity from the husband), focusing on themes of workplace boundaries, obsession, marital trust, and the consequences of not communicating openly. It ends with the family overcoming the crisis, though not without significant emotional and physical toll
