What’s hilarious is, she appears here and there and is PASSIONATE about Cid. When he was detained, you can see her thrashing in a crowd screaming to take cid out of detainment. It’s hard to grasp how much she cares about him. It reaches yandere levels cuz of scenes like this.

Frankly, the absurdity of the scene is unbelievable. Cid calmly explains how strangulation works... while literally being strangled. And the manga version goes even further with this crazy staging, with a direct reference to Ashita no Joe:
