I think it should be remembered that not all of the legends that were invited were actually at the Legends weekend. Twenty-five were invited, but only 18 made it to the retreat. Aretha Franklin, Rosa Parks, Lena Horne, Toni Morrison, Katherine Dunham, Alice Walker, and Nikki Giovanni were not there. Also, as of yesterday with the death of Roberta Flack, of the 25 invited, only seven are still living. Of those seven, at 98 years old, Leontyne Price is the oldest, and at 80 years, 8 months and 28 days, Gladys Knight is the youngest. Patti Labelle is just 4 days older.
